Nordic landscapes reflect the volatile co-dependence of elemental forces. The destructive activity of volcanic fire and the isolating stillness of ice serve a poignant note to humanity.

As we struggle hot and cold with ourselves and one another, we disregard that mother nature is dispassionate. The environment that created all life is very well poised to end us.
